New owner of a 2006 hatchback, we purchased after shop reparied from a rear end colission. Two questions:

1. Hatch rattles over rough roads right at the strike/latch point. I notice the hatch itself has some holes where it looks like "bumpers" should maybe be attached that would make contact with two indents in the bumper cover, just inside of the taillights. Mine just has holes here so I'm guessing. Can anyone confirm if there are any kind of cushions that are supposed to be attached to the lower metal of the hatch lip? There are some in place just after the strut lifts, so I'm specifically asking about a second set at bumper level.

2. Looks like a shelf might have come with the car that fits right behind the rear seats and goes up/down with the hatch? Ours is missing...anyone know if these were standard and possible a part number to buy a replacment. Seems like it would help kill some of the noise from the hatch area coming into the passenger area.

Appreciate any help...

Welcome and congrats on your hatch!
1) Yes you're supposed to have rubber bumpers there, as well as two plastic drain hole caps.

2)Yes again. Your hatch was supposed to come with a tonneau cover standard. For the life of me i can't seem to find the part #, but i do know that the one for the 6 wagon is around $465.00 usd!

I'd contact the place where you got your 6 from and ask them for these parts... especially the tonneau cover.

These things will help reduce the rattling in back quite a bit.
