Congrats on the buy! Hope you stay happy with the car.
After reading around it seems as if the CAI helps with low end torque, and I like that idea. However I've read conflicting information, some say over 3500 - 4000 RPM's it get noisy, others say it's just noisy. While noisy is a matter of opinion, I would not want something that would be irritating on a 4-5 hour drive. Otherwise I may be able to pull this off and it may wind up being one of the things I do sooner rather than later. First the tint, next I think the springs and maybe just maybe a CAI.Grats! I see the modding bug has gotten to you very early in the game, my advice is to not listen to your wife and do whatever you want to the car, if you got the cash, do it, it'll be worth the constant nagging in the end.

Holy shit! You are so far the most knowledgable new owner I've seen yet. Welcome to the club.

I cannot speak for other CAI's (they should be the same), but I can assure you that the CP-E has very little if any added "growl" when you are below 3000 RPM. This is probably one of my favorite effects of a CAI, as you only here the aggressive sound when you're being aggressive on the gas pedal :drive: . You'll barely notice anything when cruising, and your wife will probably not even know anything is different. After reading around it seems as if the CAI helps with low end torque, and I like that idea.
