Going Faster

HI, I have just bought my first Mazda 6 MPS. It's a great car but a few problems with the dealer. I had a problem, that after I had been for a quick blast, I parked my car on a small gradient applying the handbrake correctly, to coming out an hour later to find my car 20 yards down the road in a wall. After taking it back to the dealer, I was told that due to my brakes heating up, I had applied the handbrake and the brakes cooled off slackening the brakes and it was able to move. They fixed it free of charge, but surely they need to fit vented brakes or something to resolve this problem. Has anyone else had this problem?
Has anyone any advice to make my MPS quicker? and can anyone recommend an appropriate dump valve/ waste gate? and finally is there any way I can get the AWD to stay on all the time?
NB I am in the UK

Cheers

Check out the Mazdaspeed section.
Why didn't you put it in gear? Why didn't you use the search button? Why didn't you visit ww.cp-e.com? :):):)
forgive my naivaty, but is the mazdaspeed 6 a different car than the mazda 6 mps?
Mazda have been in touch today they want to talk! mmmmmmmmmmmm!

apart from the where the steering wheel and pedals go, they're the same car.

and you should always park your car in gear on a gradient, for the very reason that you discovered :yesnod:

also, please put your location in your profile.
I don't think you are exactly ready for more power.. it sounds like you are already in over your head the way it is LMAO.
Thankyou for those kind words, But I am definately not in over my head, one of my last cars was a sub 5 second Nissan 300zx kickin 450 bhp. Noted about the comments about putting it in gear, but this still doesn't help me in sourcing ungraded exhaust dump valves etc. Any helpful comments would be appreciated.
Wow, that sucks. You said they 'fixed it' meaning the parking brake problem but what about the damage to the car? It rolled into a wall? That can't be good...

That is a common problem with all parking brakes. If you ever go to any performance driving event they will specifically tell you not to put on your parking brake after a long run and ask that you chock your car.

You are stuck with the stock wastegate unless you change turbos. If you are referring to the bypass/blowoff valve there are several solutions sold by many of the board sponsors. The most common are the HKS SSQV and the crushed 1g DSM.

As for making it quicker, there are several TMIC/FMIC available at this time as well as the standard intake/exhaust solutions. Some people have had good luck with boost controllers but personally I am weary of them because our turbo is almost maxed out at stock levles.

Because the MPS6 has an electro-magnetic coupler instead of a true center differential, running full time 50:50 split on anything other than ice/gravel would not be a good idea. There would be a lot of drivetrain bind going around corners where there is sufficient grip.

my buddy's got a 300z running about that.. but not with no 5 second times lmao.
Unfortunately my stupidity prevails my 300 was a 0-60mph in 4.7 secs not the 1/4 mile (I wish ) thanks for the info on the blow off valve. The dealer is going to repair the car free of charge and are going to give me free servicing for three years for the inconvenience ( how nice of them) is there anywhere in the uk for mods for the 6?
I'm sure some of our vendors will ship to the uk.
anyone got advice on the bov, should i get the one that dumps to atmosphere or a rec? I'v e been told that there is a mixture problem with the one that dumps to atmos and how does this affect the running?
Most people will suggest that you use the BOV in recirc mode, myself included. Some people have been running VTA with no problems but there has been at least one person who dynoed with a VTA setup and was only showing like 190whp. When he but his BOV in recirc mode and re-dynoed he got back the rest of his power. I cannot seem to find they dyno graphs right now. I think they might be on mazda6tech.

In any case even if you do not have a sudden and extreme loss in power, the extra fuel that your ECU will dump into your cylinders will not be good for your cats/o2 sensors/gas mileage etc. Problems might not show up immediately but look to replace those items much sooner than someone who was running in recirc.
cheers for that, that is very helpful. Do you get the same noise in a recirc or not?
The noise will be muted somewhat when used in recirc. In fact, unless you have a CAI or have gutted your airbox you probably will not be able to hear it at all. The stock airbox is very good at reducing the turbo noise.
Another quick question. If I was to install a CAI where does the MAF fit as it is not clear on the Pics
