GENUINE Mazda CarPlay+Android Auto ALL HERE!
This OFFICIAL Mazda CarPlay+AndroidAuto is for all Mazda Models which have Mazda Connect or MZD Connect, these Installation Instructions MUST BE Followed Exactly or you will never get CP/AA to work. CP/AA comes together as ONE Installation, it cannot be separated.

All of your existing Connect User/Display FEATURES still remain and still function as normal.

The following Genuine MAZDA details is for current Mazda's Worldwide using factory installed MAZDA Connect or MZD Connect Color Touch-screen, your existing New Car Warranty is not affected.

SEE this image directly Below of the CONNECT User Interface (UI), IF your MAZDA has this Design of Start Screen then YES this Genuine CarPlay and AndroidAuto RETRO Upgrade is for Your MAZDA if you want to do a self or home installation.

BELOW Pic is the End Result AFTER you have installed the 70.00.335C FIRMWARE (the correct Region) FIRST, then RUN+USE this new FIRMWARE, and then INSTALL the TWO NEW Genuine Mazda Parts LAST.

PRECISELY for the Model Years from 2014 to Today which covers MAZDA 2, MAZDA 3, MAZDA 6#, MAZDA CX-3, CX-5#, CX-8, CX-9 and MX-5/Miata/RF.
#This Genuine Mazda CP/AA Retrofit Parts Kit and Firmware/Software is not for 1st Generation of Mazda CX-5 and Mazda 6 using the factory TomTom in-Dash Navi.

NOTE: IF your NEW 2019~ Mazda Models (listed above) DOES NOT come Standard with Factory Fitted CP/AA but has 'any' Version of 70.00.xxxx Firmware already installed from Factory then ALL you need to purchase/install are the TWO Mazda Parts Listed below in your Region to get CP/AA to work.

This THREAD Does NOT apply to ALL NEW Next Gen 2019 Mazda 3 (BP) or 2020 Mazda CX-30 (DM).

All you need to know is written in the First 3 Posts of this thread, with all the Links to download files, tips and instructions, Please Follow these Details exactly, I will add a Reference Number Next to the Start of MUST READ, MUST DO Details with the following Hash and Number like ''#02'', So it is easy to refer back to a post IF Need-Be..
Like see Page 1: Post 2: #05 (as an example).

#01.YES, You can install this New Updated 70.00.335C Firmware (Region specific) only WITHOUT doing the Hardware (Two New Mazda Parts) Installation.
By installing this new Firmware ONLY your car will have the very latest available CONNECT Operating System and is FUTURE CP/AA READY...which can be done later or never.
See Changelog .Pdf in Server for all the current bug fixes and feature updates.
IF later you want this working CP/AA Feature you still MUST install the TWO Genuine Mazda Parts.

********************************

Below will show you how to and where to go to get the Genuine Mazda FIRMWARE Files from for free and where to download the Video's and .Pdf Instructions. Modfreakz hosts his Hi-Drive Server

#02.Purchase is ONLY for GENUINE Mazda CarPlay with AndroidAuto and WILL NOT WORK without Installation of new 70's Firmware FIRST and THEN the TWO ALL NEW Genuine Mazda Parts installed Second and Third . .. in that Order.. . PERIOD!

********************************

New SINGLE File FIRMWARE is Now Out* ......
New revised FIRMWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS.Pdf Now in SERVER .....
New CHANGELOGs .Pdf List of changes and fixes is now in Server.

*Method in these new Updates are now ONLY a Single 'UPDATE.up' File to Run.
No more separated Fail-safe + Reinstall.up files, Now ONLY ONE 'update.up' File.
You Select either “Reinstallation Package” or ''Update Package'' AFTER file 'SEARCHING' from Your pre-loaded file on Your quality 'USB FLASH DRIVE'.

#03.ALL the other NEW Mazda Parts are a MUST DO requirement as the process of adding and the installing of CP/AA Firmware and the MUST have Genuine Mazda Parts has not changed. DO NOT BUY or USE any other systems 'put together last year' as this WILL corrupt the use of this very latest Genuine Mazda UPDATED FIRMWARE listed below.
NOTE: There are some cheap options to separately install AndroidAuto ONLY without CarPlay and the 2 New Mazda Parts Listed Below, I strongly advise NOT to go down this route as you must use the OLD and Outdated 59 Firmware which is buggy and at times very unreliable with communication errors infecting OTHER working Systems Hardware inside your car, engine, IC control modules or display screen, SEE the long newly added CHANGELOG, you should only use latest Mazda Firmware or you will have issues as listed in Changelog. The GENUINE Mazda Firmware here is Free and the Genuine Mazda Parts are not that expensive and Mazda is still maintaining updates for a few more years.

WHAT is the Current or Latest Firmware to use?..

When you See/Read always use the Latest, Newest, Updated or Best Firmware over the years Mazda with Connect has Updated Firmware many times to Fix Issues and Bugs like any Firmware/Software.

So what do you use??, the Higher the Number string the LATER/LATEST the Firmware, anything which is a Lower Number is called Older or Outdated Firmware.
Examples: 29.00.000A, 46.00.250, 51.00.351, 56.00.513, 59.00.545, 70.00.021A, 70.00.100A (still Must use 'a' 70's Firmware for any CarPlay A/Auto install).

YES, Even If you Do Not do the Hardware Changes below in Post 3 for working CP/AA you can still update to 70.00.335C to fix resolve current issues/bugs with Connect...see Changelogs List in Server..

ANYTHING Below 70.00.335C is technically Older and Outdated and should NOT be used unless Directed to do so (Only BM Mazda 3's still on Stage 1 22.00. to 33.00.), ...ALL OTHER Mazda's have Stage 2 Firmware out of Factory which is any 42.00.xxxx or Later/Higher Firmware like 46, 51, 55, 56, 59 or latest 70's.

********************************

BASICALLY IF YOU WANT the LATEST FIRMWARE for your Mazda-MZD Connect just install 70.00.335C over what you are using now.....JUST MAKE CERTAIN you use the Correct AVAILABLE 'OS Version' for your 'REGION', like 'NA N' or 'EU N' or '4A N'.
To Find what Mazda's Firmware 'OS VERSION' and 'REGION' is in your car today go to Post 1 #04 above to reveal the OS Version Number and Region which you are currently using......

.....As you can see from dash image this Owner from his cars CMU 'File Searching' has the very Latest 70.00.335C 4A N (ADR) Firmware already installed out of the Factory, so in his case all he has to install for a 100% Working CP/AA are the Two Genuine Mazda Parts listed in Post 3 Below for his ADR 4A N REGION.

********************************

Here is the Link for FULL LIST of the OFFICIAL Mazda Details, this Server is hosted by our forum friend Modfreakz.
JUST USE the LINKS Above in Post 1 #05.#06.#07 IF you Only want to Install the very LATEST Mazda Firmware for your Cars CONNECT
.

https://my.hidrive.com/share/hsodpqja.l#$/Mazda_Firmware

CLiCK on Folder To reveal Content, CLiCK on Content To download what you want One File at at time.

BEST to DOWNLOAD ONE FILE AT A TIME, THAT WAY FIRMWARE DOWNLOADs AS A .UP FILE AND NOT AS COMBINED Set Of FILES (.ZIP)

********************************

1. Listed in this Server are the CarPlay-AndroidAuto INSTALL Folder, which has all the TrimRemoval Instructions and How To Install the USB DATA Cables (set of two). How to Reveal the CMU with Pull Apart Videos and newly added FULL INSTALL mp4 Videos, Plus how to correctly plug in the all New USB Cable Pairs in all New Aux Hub and @ existing CMU rear-end grey twin plugs.
https://my.hidrive.com/share/hsodpqja.l#$/Mazda_Firmware/-CarPlay-AndroidAuto%20INSTALL

2. MAZDA FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE WORLDWIDE.Pdf
Download these instructions and also Print Out and follow 100% for any and all Firmware Updates.https://my.hidrive.com/lnk/gXJFKpIR

3. Then all important FIRMWARE Download for your Region.
All use 'a' version of 70.00.335C for CP/AA Upgrade.
EU N is for all of Europe and UK.
NA N is for North America, USA, Canada, Mexico.
4A N is for Australia, NZ, Southern Hemisphere, South Asia, Oceania.

********************************

See first post above, you MUST follow the Install Instructions in the correct order and understand the PROCESS BEFORE you start.

NEVER TURN CAR OFF, START ENGINE or STOP FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCESS ONCE YOU START IT, ALLOW up to 60 Minutes, or DO NOT DO IT !

********************************

YES, WHILE YOU ARE DOING THE MAIN 'update.up' FIRMWARE INSTALLATION YOU WILL VISUALLY SEE YOUR TOUCHSCREEN either Flicker, Turn Off-On, Flash White, Grey or Black.....NOTHING IS WRONG THIS IS 100% NORMAL.....DO NOT PANIC.....OK!.....These FIRMWARE INSTALLATIONS takes your TIME!!....About..
NA N About 35-40 minutes....
EU N About 50-55 minutes....
4A N About 45-50 minutes....
See Below Instructions plus the Screen Pic on HOW TO KEEP 'CMU' ON...a MUST Do!

********************************

To CLEAR UP some Questions on the new FIRMWARE INSTALLATION.Pdf from MAZDA, DO NOT, repeat DO NOT Skip Any of the 30 numbered Tasks as you do not know more than Mazda.
WHEN You do ANY Connect Firmware Updating, YOU NEVER have Engine Running or Full IGNITION ON, ONLY ACC Ignition should ever be ON, that is Amber light inside S/S Switch.

NEVER, Touch or Put YOUR FEET ANYWHERE on your Pedals during the First Starting of the Firmware Update Process.
The STEP ON of 'A' Pedal is ONLY done during the update.up Firmware loading and ONLY to Re-SET the internal CMU clock so to keep CMU staying ON and NOT auto turn Off.
STEP ON 'A' Pedal Once every 15 to 20 minutes MAX, to keep your CMU on.

TO BEGIN: Keys Transmitters with you. To get to ACC Ignition, NO FEET ON Pedals, and PRESS S/S (Start/Stop) Button ONCE ONLY. This puts CMU ON and car into ACC Ignition mode ON.

NEXT: Your RADIO (AM or FM) MUST BE ON.
NOTE: When Instructions says to Turn OFF or Re-Start and or put CMU to-sleep for a Lock Down and Walkaway, you PRESS S/S Button TWICE QUICKLY, that is One after the other, you may see the Green light inside S/S Button for a second, that is OK, your car will completely Shut Down, DO NOT PUT FEET ON PEDALS DURING SHUT DOWN, Next: EXIT CABIN, Lock all Doors and Walkaway with All Keys and any electronics, wait for 6 minutes and return to car with Keys to unlock and continue.
NEVER have Full IGNITION ON, that is All Lights ON under the Dash Meter Hood and or Green Light inside S/S Button, this is A real Full Ignition ON and must be avoided by doing it correctly from the start.
DO NOT Have Engine Running at all During FIRMWARE Update PROCESS and I do not care how many times you may have done Firmware updates before and all has been OK, ENGINE RUNNING IS NOT THE PROCESS by Mazda Today or Ever.
Engine Running means Engine ECU/PCM is communicating with IC (Instrument Cluster) and the CMU, any live communication can BRICK your CMU, this is partly why the Full NEW shut down is required in Firmware Update Procedure Pdf Number # 7 task.

DO NOT Skip ANY of 'FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE' # 1 to # 30 in .Pdf.... Unless directed to skip.https://my.hidrive.com/lnk/gXJFKpIR

NOTE: IF your Car Battery is Old or bit Slow then connect a Trickle Charger Battery Tender to your Car Battery.
TURN OFF: Any and all accessories, lights, fans, demisters or anything that can drain power from car battery.
YOUR FIRST TIME?: BEFORE you Start this Firmware Update PROCESS, Do a trial experiment with the Start/Stop (S/S) Button by pressing 'Twice Quickly' and see what happens, Press Once and see what happens. Understand the functions, it is not that difficult, look at Mazda 3 CP/AA Install Videos.

********************************

USB FLASH DRIVE/THUMB DRIVE Quality WARNING:
WHEN BUYING OR USING Any USB FLASH DRIVE (Thumb Drive), DO NOT USE or PURCHASE CHEAP ''NO BRANDED'' USB FLASH DRIVES USUALLY Made in China as these CHEAP DRIVES HAVE BEEN KNOWN to STOP and FAIL DURING CMU FIRMWARE File Installation which can Brick Your Cars CMU.

Do Not Take That RISK to SAVE A FEW $$$s, BUY AND USE A KNOWN BRANDED NAME LIKE Sandisk, LG, Samsung, Sony or Kingston with an external flashing LED is great to see the new .up File is loading into CMU.

********************************

OPTIONAL USB Flash Drive TEST:
TESTER App now in Server 'x H2testw USB Drive Tester' in Folder 'H2testw' with Pdf Instructions for USB Drive Tester to Write/Read/Speed Test and Report on your USB Flash Drive BEFORE you use it.
https://my.hidrive.com/share/hsodpqja.l#$/Mazda_Firmware/x%20H2testw%20USB%20Drive%20Tester
You may find out too late that your USB Flash Drive has stalled or stopped, Why you should test your USB Flash Drive and or do the .up file CheckSum Hash # Value Test of 70's Firmware BEFORE Use.

********************************

BE AWARE THAT DOWNLOADING AND COPYING .up FIRMWARE FILE Via any MAC (Apple) PC CAN and DOES CREATE ISSUES WITH Cars CMU SEEING THE LARGE update.up FILE on Your USB FLASH/THUMB DRIVE.

I advise you ONLY use A WINDOWS PC for ALL Downloading and Transferring update.up File onto your Clean FAT32 Formatted USB FLASH DRIVE.
Any Mac PC will auto install 'Hidden Files' onto your Flash Drive which then STOPS your cars CMU from seeing the new Firmware update.up File on your Flash Drive during your CMU file searching task.
Mac Users 'can try' using a Cleaner to remove Hidden/Invisible Files on your USB Flash Drive, but it is not always successful. Seriously just use/borrow a 100% Windows/Intel PC and re-format your USB Flash Drive on this W-PC and Download update.up File again. IF you are still having issues with CMU seeing your USB Flash Drive try using another different Flash Drive of 16GB is good.
Fact: Automotive Diagnostics are only meant to be done with and on a Windows PC. The Mac OS is not supported by the wholesale/manufacturing Auto Industry with any car make.

********************************

FOR EARLY Mazda 3's ONLY:
Old 31.00.100A Firmware 'if Needed' is ONLY used for the very early 2013-2015 Mazda 3's (BM) for a FIRST Stage 1 Update, NO other Mazda needs it.

ALL OTHER MAZDA Models NOW ONLY NEED the 70.00.335C Installed.

********************************

MAKE CERTAIN you understand the upgrade PROCESS 100% and DO NOT ALLOW CMU to ever go to sleep (turn-off), DO NOT Start Engine Until 100% Finished!

********************************

....NOTE:
From all 70.00.335C there are No more separated Fail-safe.up + Reinstall.up files, ONLY the one SINGLE 'update.up' File.
AFTER Touchscreen file 'SEARCHING' from Your pre-loaded SINGLE 70.00.335C update.up file in your quality branded 'USB FLASH DRIVE' You then Select either “Reinstallation Package” or ''Update Package'' the rest of this Video Install process has NOT Changed.

....NOTE:
After 70.00.335C Firmware is installed you can run it and can use it in car normally, BUT YOU WILL NOT SEE CP/AA availability on the Connect screen Settings, etc.
Only UNTIL and AFTER you Install the TWO NEW Genuine Mazda Parts LAST.

Upgrading for the FIRST Time MUST BE done with OLD PARTS Still Working in car. Your cars NEXT and Future Firmware Releases are done with new parts installed as this ONLY applies for the very FIRST OS Version install of 70s.

WARNING:
If you install NEW Mazda Parts FIRST You CAN NOT Install the NEW 70s Firmware. YOU WILL have to re-install the Two OLD PARTS again BEFORE you can INSTALL the New 70's Firmware. (Firmware FIRST - New Parts LAST).

BELOW Video:
Here is a US Mazda Owner Installing NA N now old Two File Set-Up Firmware 70.00.100, I cannot fault his method and like his CheckSum # testing of Files on USB Drive. EU N and 4A N Update.upFile takes longer to install as they are much larger files. He did have his Phone BlueTooth On, it should be OFF during any updating....

Time (how long?) Mazda USA allows 1.5 Hours for their Dealers labor to install kit on a 2018 Mazda 6. Mazda Motors Europe allows 1.4 Hours labor for all models to install.

********************************

''w TROUBLESHOOTING'' PDF's Added to Server above.

Also...these Two Common Installation Problems....

CP/AA Not Working AFTER you Installed the 2 New Parts ?
1. You Did NOT install then Run NEW 70's Firmware First and BEFORE you Removed OLD Parts(old Aux Hub, old USB Cable) and installed the all New Parts (Hardware) ?.
2. No GPS or Seeing 'Greyed Out' Apple Car Play and Android Auto Touchscreen Select?, make Certain your BLUE GPS Cable PLUG has not accidentally UNPLUGGED when re-installing your CMU, re-check ALL Cable END Plugs on the REAR of CMU.

MUST READ ALL OF NEXT POST # 3 ..
MAKE SURE YOUR OWN PHONE Apps' and OS ARE UPDATED

\/The ALL Important new GENUINE Mazda Parts below\/

See 'USB CABLE Installation Mazda'.Pdfs in SERVER.

Pics above also shows USB End Plugs part of the all new USB Data Cables (Pair Of).

NOTE: The USB Cable END Plugs for the CMU (Green and Blue) and USB Cable END Plugs for the AUX Hub (Black and Brown) close up pictures are from two separate Part Numbered Cable Sets, one from NA N North America C922 and the other from EU N Europe C830. They are exact same profile USB end plugs.

WITHOUT THE GENUINE MAZDA PARTS CP/AA WILL NEVER INSTALL AND WORK.

VIDEOS (mp4)
''FULL INSTALL'' Videos for Mazda 3, and CX-5 and MX-5.
PLUS ''CMU How to Reveal'' Videos are now available in the Server in Post #2 above.
L00K in ''Mazda Firmware'' Folder then in the ''CarPlay-AndroidAuto INSTALL'' Folder.

Questions have been asked can I still use the existing AUX Hub and or the single USB Data Cable in car right now?, No you can not, Can I just install Android Auto ONLY without CarPlay or Visa-Versa ?
No, GENUINE CP/AA will never work without doing the above installation and purchase of all new GENUINE Mazda Parts.(with 12 month Mazda Parts Warranty).

Question, Why can't I just alter the power source and boot it to 2.1Amps, can I trick the install process ?
No as initialisation searches for the specific new AUX Hub and new CP/AA Features/Apps will not Run without new HUB and Data Cables.
New 70's Firmware is also partitioned differently over previous Firmware.

Question, Can I just install the New 70.00.335C ONLY and what are the Changelog or bug fixes?,
Yes, 70's Firmware is now the ONLY factory Install With or Without factory CP/AA.
Yes, We have Changelogs for 70's Firmware, see Post #2 above.

Question, In ''Mazda Trim Removal/Cable Install Instructions.Pdf'' MAZDA says to disconnect Negative Battery Terminal, is this really necessary?,
No it is not, provided you do not have Ignition or Radio ON there is no Power to/in the cables you are replacing, so you do not have to if you do not want to.

Question, Do I keep or can I reuse ANY of the Old MAZDA Parts at anytime later..?
No, The old AUX Hub module is Discarded, it can not be used for ANY CP/AA Install.
THE original now unused single USB Cable PLUGS are bent over and Zip Tied Off and Never used again, You DO NOT Need to remove USB Cable as in some models it is part of the original wiring loom or is too hard to Discard (unnecessary).

...DO NOT FORGET TO REMOVE YOUR ''NAVi SD CARD'' BEFORE YOU DISPOSE OF YOUR OLD 'AUX HUB Module'...

....TOOLS NEEDED For Installation....
1 x * USB Flash/Thumb Drive 2.0 FAT32 Format Size 8-16GB Preferred.
1 x # 70.00.335C FIRMWARE FILE for Your REGION see first Post #04
1 x Copy of 'MAZDA FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE WORLDWIDE.pdf' How To Do It Instructions.
1 x Egg Timer or Countdown Timer (CMU Keep Power On Sound Alert!).
1 x 10mm Socket, + 2 x 200mm-8" Extensions (for CMU Bolt/s).

1 x Flat Head - Screwdriver (taped head so won't scratch plastic dash parts).
1 x Scissors, small pointy Pliers and Side-Cutters.

* Strongly Advise you TEST your USB Flash Drive see x H2testw Folder in Mazda_Firmware, this will test Flash Drive so not defective or stalls/stops.
Also quality USB Flash Drive including a flashing LED is great so you can see that your cars CMU is Copying over the new update.up File.
# Strongly Advise you FIRST check the Firmware you Downloaded Integrity with tested and correct Checksum Hash# string listed, see y Checksum.

SEE Server for ALL CP/AA Owner User Manuals and Guides.

Oh, and Do Not Forget to download, install and run, the following GENUINE software in your Phone.
Latest Apple iOS iOS 13.0.0 or later for i-phone. Siri MUST be Enabled.
AndroidAuto App 4.5.592853 or later for compatible Android phones.

PLUS do not forget you MUST use a quality genuine phone USB Cable Cord to connect your phone to the new Mazda AUX Hub Module to the Top USB Port with the white Phone Logo.
CAN NOT 'MIRROR' WITH BLUETOOTH, MUST BE USB HARDWIRED.

HOW TO RESET 'CMU' TO FACTORY SETTINGS (Link).
1. A BRICKED CMU ?
2. FUEL MAINTENANCE MONITOR NOT WORKING AFTER FIRMWARE UPDATE ?
3. DO A FACTORY RESET OF CMU ?
4. OUT OF WARRANTY REPAIRS ?
5. WHERE MAZDA DEALERS GO TO ..
https://my.hidrive.com/share/hsodpqja.l#$/Mazda_Firmware/v%20RESET%20Bricked%20or%20Blank%20CMU

THE END OF CP/AA INSTALLATION DETAILS.

THIS THREAD AND IT'S DETAILS ARE GENUINE MAZDA WHICH IS TOLD TO MAZDA DEALERS FOR INSTALLATION OF GENUINE MAZDA CP/AA RETRO-FIT.

I DO NOT HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF UNAUTHORISED 'MZD-MAZDA CONNECT TWEAKS' , PLEASE DO NOT ASK or POST ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT 'HOW TO' CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT 'TWEAKING' THIS FIRMWARE CODE.

IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE PRECISELY DOING YOU CAN AND WILL BRICK YOUR CMU.
PLEASE TAKE YOUR 'HOW TO' ENQUIRIES ABOUT UNAUTHORISED 'TWEAKS' TO OTHER THREADS or FORUMS.

BTW: You guys with Mazda 6 and having the 'BLACK SCREEN" Reboot issue, installing of this latest 70.00.335C FIRMWARE is said to resolve that issue.

YES, you can install this Firmware even IF you do not do the CP/AA Hardware Install.

ALSO, I know there is a lot of information in these first 3 posts, and yes I do repeat myself (old age) but this is so you check the warnings....Just make sure you follow the Mazda Firmware Installation 100%, and you will be fine. :)

The CP/AA Installation is NOT that difficult, the hardest parts is pulling the dash apart (where required), there have been many Mazda 6 Owners who have done this at home.

I hope you don't mind if I will do a sort of "copy paste" on our local forum. I would like to invite you to join instead if you wouldn't allow me to repost. We use English but mostly, the conversation is in our own dialect.

The problem is what you have mentioned, I am allowed to edit the post within one hour at the most.

With that, I see the dilemma for updates. The only thing I can remedy this in our local forum is make another thread with the update, stating the version.

Thank you for joining us and providing valuable information.

Since you seem to know the system pretty well, would you mind going to PM for some off topic but very specific questions?

Well, there has to be a 1st dumb question so it might as well be me...

We have a 2018/ Dealer installed the AA/CP several months a go but I do not have the "latest" firmware. 70.00.335C

When I click on the link to download this version there are three files. Do I download all three or just the 70.00.335C file.

Thanks

.
You are in Utah which is USA that takes NA N Firmware..
I take it this is the link from Post 1 x#05 above..
https://my.hidrive.com/share/hsodpqja.l#$/Mazda_Firmware/NA%20N/70.00.335C%20NA%20N%20all%20MAZDAs
Look at the start of Post 2, you will see the Server Page Screenshot Image, Click on the Top Right 'View' for a ''LIST VIEW'' of the files...
1 is the .UP File you Need, and the other 2 are .Pdf Files, One is Installation Instructions and the Other is a list of the ChangeLogs, all the updates up to and including 70.00.335C (NA N) the one you want to install....download 1 file at a time so it is not grouped in a .Zip format.
Just follow the PDF Install Instructions EXACTLY, Hash Checksum your Downloaded File and then put on a FAT32 USB Flash Drive 16 GB is good, DO NOT USE ANY Mac (Apple PC) see above Post 2 tells you why, IF you use an Apple PC your CMU will NOT SEE the File when you go and Search for it.

READ the instructions a FEW Times, DO ALL of the 1 to 30 Numbered Tasks.
Most important thing is DO NOT Let the CMU Turn Off, touch Pedal Every 20 minutes or 10 minutes if you want to, use a Countdown Timer.

Thanks ASH8 for the write up. My 18 had CarPlay/AA already when I bought it. I updated the software following the instructions because I've gotten the black screen twice so far. Time will tell if it truly fixed that problem.

Wanted to quickly share my results:

Super easy, which is saying something for me considering I'm not the most computer savvy person on the Planet.

Only issue I ran into was (originally) using a USB stick with 256 GB. Because it is exFAT the car would not recognize it. MUST be 16 or 32 GB FAT32. After reformatting to 16 GB FAT32 it worked perfectly.

Actual installation/download time was about 25 minutes. I'm guessing the shorter download time was because the Drive is a 3.0 not 2.0? Everything works perfect

Our car has been to the dealer once. That was to have the AA/CP installed. Just saved wasting a day doing this at home instead of having to return to the dealer.

Thanks again.

I don't follow you, the two correct PN is below for USA ..there is no 606.
C922-V6-605A New USB Data Cable set.
TK78-66-9U0C New AUX Module Unit
TWO part Numbers, that is all that is inside the kit, only USA sells the kit...or you buy individually.

Here is an internet seller..
