Come on Trel....driving with turns beats the hell out of drag-racing any day. I'll be there both days, and 9G_Redline(Kevin in the blue RX-8) will be there with me both days as well. I only live about an hour away, so I'm down for anything saturday night or sunday night. Just look for a silver 6 and a blue 8 parked side by side. If anyone wants to PM phone numbers we should try to get together one of the days.

i'll be there sunday. sorta curious to see how i do, i've autocrossed my gti before but never really pushed my 6 that hard. and my dad wont let me race his rx-8. i'll be there with a buddy of mine, not sure if we're taking my 6 or his turbo prelude. i'll be up from auburn for this and probably wearing an auburn formula sae shirt (gotta rep the team). i'll post up my times but i'm not expecting anything super fast, just having some fun.

Don't tell me someone on this board was responsible for the Speed6 finish in a 4 wheel drift that knocked out the sign and timing beam on Saturday morning.

That was freaking hilarious. :D

Well atleast try. :) My best time was 26.99..... but it was my 3rd run which didn't count. The other runs were 27.????? with 2 other ppl in the car with me!!

Was it just me or did it seem like they were getting more strict as the day went on? Particularly on the RX8/MX5 course. Although I never had my badge "clipped", I received a friendly warning... and that was the round I was probably easiest on the car.

Oh well, it was a BLAST anyway.

Boy, the Speed6's had taken a beating though in their 700 mile life. Their tranny's felt very clunky by comparison to mine. There was also a Silver RX8 that had a 2nd gear synchro going out. It was impossible to make the 1-2 shift without grinding it.

Kudos to Mazda anyway. Another good event under their belt.

Oh yeah, at the end of sunday the attendants were REALLY strict at the MX-5/RX-8 course. I got a good last RIDE (I emphasize because I was NOT driving) with a friend I met on the 8-forums. He did a wicked clutch-kick around a curve and did a good 360, taking out all the cones on the inside of the curve. They were pissed to the point that as a passenger, I got my card TAKEN (he did too, obviously) and they escorted us outside the premises.

It was reported that the folks running the show got so pissed that they threatened to shut the event down early (there was ~30-45 minutes left) if ANYONE did ANYTHING REMOTELY out of line. Do I know how to go out with a bang or what? =) lol

Awesome. Wish I could have seen that one.

Watching a Speed6 performing a 4wheel drift right into the Finish Line sign and timing lights was pretty cool too. They loved to point out the fact that driver had turned off DSC the entire rest of the day.

Of course, as a counter to the DSC argument, Trel (ATL) got one of the better times of the day, and he ran with the DSC off.

I wanted to point out to the guy that the DSC is only a big help to those that can't drive.
