ahhaaha ya......We were at the Mazdaspeed6 tent......mmmmmmmmmmm.........Dont cha' just love the smell of burning clutches?!.....but we had an AWESOME time! Was it just me or did it seem like they were getting more strict as the day went on? Particularly on the RX8/MX5 course. Although I never had my badge "clipped", I received a friendly warning... and that was the round I was probably easiest on the car.
Oh well, it was a BLAST anyway.
Boy, the Speed6's had taken a beating though in their 700 mile life. Their tranny's felt very clunky by comparison to mine. There was also a Silver RX8 that had a 2nd gear synchro going out. It was impossible to make the 1-2 shift without grinding it.
Kudos to Mazda anyway. Another good event under their belt.

Awesome. Wish I could have seen that one.Oh yeah, at the end of sunday the attendants were REALLY strict at the MX-5/RX-8 course. I got a good last RIDE (I emphasize because I was NOT driving) with a friend I met on the 8-forums. He did a wicked clutch-kick around a curve and did a good 360, taking out all the cones on the inside of the curve. They were pissed to the point that as a passenger, I got my card TAKEN (he did too, obviously) and they escorted us outside the premises.
It was reported that the folks running the show got so pissed that they threatened to shut the event down early (there was ~30-45 minutes left) if ANYONE did ANYTHING REMOTELY out of line. Do I know how to go out with a bang or what? =) lol

I was in line and watched you make that run. If I remember correctly, we all applauded you.Man, I wish I had known some of you were meeting up at this. I'm not too active on this site.
The Mazda event was awesome. I was there last year too and I'm amazed they put that on across the country for free. Anyway, I got there right at 8 a.m. on Saturday and there weren't many people there yet at all. I got to take four runs straight in the RX-8 before there was even a line.
My best time on the Mazdaspeed Challenge was a 25.9. It was on my third run though, so it didn't technically count. Although they did let me come back for a bonus run because I had the best time for the 10:00 hour.
Let me know if there's any other events you plan to meet at. How many of us in the Atlanta area are there?

If that was you ATL (Trel) I was the tall goofy guy that waived to you as I was pulling out of the parking lot in my WWPearl Speed. Nice to... well, NOT meet you.The other WWpearl MS6 could have been ATL's (Trel) he was also there with us.

It was good to finally see another one on the road and not sitting at the freaking Mazda dealership.
