Well, saw oil puddling in driveway yesterday and pulled car into garage to search. Took off lower pan and can not find exactly where oil is coming from, but it appears to be higher than the pan...all over the drive shaft output area and a little higher but that may have just slung up there. Now, I removed the MBC, and cleared the overboost codes by disconnecting the neg cable, had autozone check or sure FOR THE p0234. Anyway, once I put the stock BOV back on, do you think they will try and viod warranty work for an oil leak due to the DP? Any thoughts? I think I am just rambling on because I am pissed that I have a leak to start with! :swearin:

If possible, pull the DP as well. I wouldn't want to give them any ammo at all.

..and as been said a million times before.. they need to Prove the DP caused the leak. Magnuson-Moss act and all that.

First, check out this thread..

http://forum.mazda6club.com/index.php?show...879&hl=leak

That sounds similar to what you are getting...

You also might want to shoot a PM to awdterror...

Good luck man, I'm fairly sure they won't try to get out of this one because it's not really something that is likely to be caused by abuse or mods...

Thannks, I have already checked out most of the threads about the leaks. I am not going to pull the DP because it is a PITA plus it is exhaust! Not like I was pressurizing the oil pan at 35 psi or anything...anyway, i will be contacting the stealership on Monday to get it in. This sucks becase I was just about to take it to the body shop and get the ock chips from the interstate taken care of...Good comprehensive insurance with zero deductable:) Guess that will have to wait until oil leak fixed!

i left my mods on there, they didn't care.....they won't void your warrenty because of parts, they can deny you service but not void it. dealerships don't have that authority.

mazda was smoking crack when they designed the oil pan

What mods did you leave on there? You say that they can deny service, but is that service on that part or anything on the car? I took off my MBC because I want to run in the stock class for autoX anyway and they said it would bump me a class so therefore I took it off as I would have done anyway. Also, what a tremendous power difference without the MBC...I was amazed that the car felt dead now. Maybe has something to do with the resetting of the ECU also??? anyway your input is appreciated in response to my questions.

i had a bov, mbc, and intake left on there. they told me that is not going to cause an oil leak. I also asked them prior to me bringing it down there the first time if they were going to have any issues with mods, my dealer said if it's not the direct cause of it we don't care. So a little homework prior to bringing it to the dealer can help also. but anyways you sound like you have an axel seal leaking not the same problem i had.

here is a general rundown of the law

here is also another good read on it

Yeah, I think i will leave the BOV on there. Why would that causea transaxle leak? Anyway, i appreciate your input and resources. I willnot tell them that I have modded it with a MBC but I willnot hide the DP because it is the exhaust...not related!

In case anyone really cares...car in shop today, gave me a POS sentra as a rental...good gas mileage though. Have it for about 4 days...Will post results/findings when available. Oh, the service manager loved the boost gauge in the center vent!

OK...so here is the deal. I guess the oil feed and return lines from the turbo were leaking. The supply line I took off when getting to a bolt on the exhaust manifold, but never touched the return line! That was strange. They said it is ready to go and all is well now. Oh yeah, they did not say a word about the DP or the BOV that was not stock...Yippee...they do like modders!
