Anyone else have a belt squealing when hitting air conditioning or screwing the steering wheel?
I put texta marks on outer/inner hub of harmonic balancer and found where the squealing was coming from.
Beware, harmonic balancer is a floating fit on crankshaft, as is timing gear!
I learnt the hard way, bent valves!

The balancer has an internal hub that goes on the crank, the outer hub drives the fan belt, inbetween the 2 is a rubber ring. If you look at picture you will see on outer left a black texta mark that no longer lines up with inner. I try not to be a smart ass when replying to posts.

This is the timing gear that is sandwiched between harmonic balancer and the crank, no spline, no key way, no locating pin, the designers threw away the rule book. Loosening off the harmonic balancer can have devasting consequences! (bent valves)
