There are many wheels out there for 100 dollars less shipped or even less that look a lot more customy (if thats what yer lookin for) and nicer looking. Dont get me wrong RX8 rims are VERY nice. I personally like other styles. Either way good luck. 1000 dollars is a good deal though. Check rx8 clubs website, you might be able to get some even cheaper.

i saw that set on ebay, and got offered the same deal. i ended up passing. i'm just not crazy about those RE040 tires. i'm still looking for a set of rims only, or a set with different tires.

I don't know where you shop but decent 18" wheels and tires aren't that easy to find for $1000. I just paid $1050 shipped for my 17" winter rims and tires. And I basically chose the cheapest wheels available.

I managed to snag some near-mint RX-8 wheels on almost bald RE040's. Really lucked out because of how hard it is to find the wheels alone since people usually sell them with the new Potenzas like this case. Still isn't cheap, mounting and balancing new winter Dunlop M3's on them is costing over $1200.

I also agree that checking out the RX-8 club sites will help. With some luck you might be able to find a set for local pickup.

Watch out for RX-8 club. There's a guy on there who sold a set of RX-8 rims for $400, and they were damaged alot more than he hinted. There was a huge explosion on there about it. Paypal only offers coverage up to $200 for chargeback/fraud cases too, just so you know.

I think $1000 for OEM wheels is alot of money. I ended up paying $900 shipped for 4 Mazdaspeed wheels and tires, and that's even more than I wanted to pay. I'm glad I did now, they're very cool.

I got my RX8s for $275, then I put some Kumho SPTs on them for just over 400. Bottom line, for about 700 bucks total with brand new tires.

Keep an eye on RX8club though, you can find some good deals if you're patient. $1000 is lot for a set of used stock wheels and tires, in my opinion.

Mounting/balancing for 18s runs $25-$35 per tire depending on where you go.

Mounting and balancing was 40 bucks total. My local tire shop takes care of me because I've bought everything else in the past from them.

That cheap maybe if you know someone - most places want around 200-250 to mount and balance a set in the St Louis area.

Just IMO, but I freaking love my RX-X wheels on my car (with Toyos)

I haven't seen a set of aftermarket wheels that I like more although black rims with a chrome lip on a black car is very nice looking though.
