I am going to purchase eyelids for my car but I have two questions that need answered before I make my final decision

#1.What eyelid has the best quality?
#2.Will the eyelids block my 194 drl's off?

Thanks in advance?

I have sylvia eyelids
I didn't know we had an abundant choice for eyelids

it doesn't block the DRL
accolade sells one that is more angular (kind of follows the contour of the headlight) and the sylvia one is more straight across. of course there's the "batman" looking one, but if you get it, you'll risk being banned from the community :sarc: .

I've found 5 types of materials: abs, polyurethane, fiberglass, vinyl and carbon. the vinyl ones, I've heard, are pretty thin like a sticker. the abs and poly ones are supposed to be a bit thicker and make them look like they aren't part of the headlight (not sure if this is the best way to put it...they rise above the headlight so it doensn't look like you just put a sticker on the headlight...). the fiberglass ones, I haven't heard too much about. I'm not sure if they are already formed to fit the headlight or not - I figure they have to be or else the tape may not be strong enough to keep them stuck. these styles are on e-bay, so if you want pics go there.

but if there are some others who can tell me a bit more about the fiberglass ones or what accolade calls poly fiber, please post!

check out page 4 for some close up pics...

When I put my ABS eyelids on, I'm going to heat up the plastic to make it fit the contour of the headlight more.
i have the accolade eyelids and i love them. they fit real nice and look nice and aggressive. and the material they use is supposed to be a supperior surface that makes the paint stick very good.

The vinyl eyelids are the ones that are real thin, the polyurethane are much thicker and sit more flush/even with the hood/fender but are still malleable enough not to need a heatgun to shape. Got mine from Pracing before their GB debacle, but didn't end up keeping them on, didn't like the stick-on part look.

oops, yeah you're right. thanks for the clarification; i'll edit my post above.

so is polyurethane the same as abs?
No poly is different. Isn't it like a flexable material, the ABS is more of a plastic.
Polyurithane is more like a thicker rubber piece that you can easily bend and form to the headlight. I love mine, sits flush with the hood and looks great. Wish i had not put them on prior to baking the headlings though... now im not exactly sure which way to go.
hey thanks peeps, appreciate the help. just got to decide on which ones now and where to get them. but at least I know what the differences are now.
No one other blue 6 answered my question about eyelids blocking the drl's.So,other than the silviaparts eyelids.

Do any of the eyelids block the DRL's???specifically the accolade ones.

if anything the sylvia's are a bit thicker than the other ones, and I've seen a couple other members with the accolade type ones and they did not block the DRL's.
I just used black electrical tape and only spent $4.00!! Though that is only temporary, I will either be painting on the eyelid or make my own out of a thin plastic for the final mod
i have the accolade and none of the lights are blocked
I got the fiberglass accolade ones but they are not painted. How much should I expect to be charged for the painting by a body shop.
