Get magnaflow or injen (if you can find it used cause they don't make it anymore). They are the best exhausts for our 6's and are really easy to install. It's just a simple bolt off the stockers (might be difficult depending on the bolts and how rusted they are. Mine were a PITA) and bolt the aftermarkets on.

Therpmstore has good prices for all the exhausts and free shipping!! As long as you get one for the 6, you won't have to bend any pipes or anything like that.

Good luck!
A fellow buddy of mine had the injen on his v6 and it sounded REALLY good. I'm not sure how it sounds on a 4cyl but Im sur it'll sound good either way. I have the tanabe axleback on my 4cyl and it sounds good. It's a really deep exhaust and the pipes itself look really fatty.

The size of the pipes are the same on the v6 and 4cyl cause my tanabe's were on a v6 before they were on my 6i...
They are both bolt-on's. If you go to the RPM store they have the instructions for the magnaflow exhaust...
