Yeah, that trans mount sucks!!! It is a 3/50 warranty issue. If you are within 3/50, then there is no favor about it. It is covered. Now CP-E has a nice replacement, but if you are still in warranty, let Mazda buy this one and then get a "good one" next go around! ;)

forgive my ignorance, could my clutch problem be related to the mount?

i think i am within the 3 years /50k. i cant recall ifi i bought my car in september or October of 2003...

Ummm, not really, though the mount wear can be accelerated by the clutch chatter. Also, the worn mount makes the clutch problem feel worse. By the way, what clutch problem are you having?

If your in service date was Oct '03 then you are good until that date this year!

after tlaking to peoplea t work, i think i need a second opinion. i am going to have them fix the engine mount and then take it somewhere else.

First, your car is in warranty. Second, the mount is a warrantable repair regardless. Third, your clutch can be warranted, too!!! Do a search herein and you will come up with a growing number of individuals who had their clutches replaced beyond the 12/12 period that the dealers and Mazda try to adhere to. I had mine done recently at 45K miles!!! That is good news for you because now there is a precedence that makes it hard for them to deny you this repair withing the 4/50 period!

P.S. Chain of command at your dealership on this will be: Service Manager, General Manager, Mazda Rep, Mazda CR. Work them over and use this site for reference. Good luck!!! ;)

You are correct for '03-'06. Click this: Mazda new car warranty link - low and behold the '07 warranty has changed! FYI.

Click the link in the quote above. ;)

Also why does everyone refer to the 4/50 period. Is this the most common warrenty or it this actually a limit to when certain things may be fixed, regaurdless of warrenty length??? Like i have a total care 60 month/100k, so is my clutch covered until that mark???

Assuming you are in the U.S., your Mazda warranty is 4/50. I assume you have a 60/100 extended warranty? No, your extended warranty will not likely cover the clutch.

i think i am going to argue that a broken engine mount has led to my clutch issues.

Actually, the clutch chatter contributes to your mount failure. ;)
It doesn't really matter what caused either one to fail. You can get both repaired under warranty.
