Hi everyone!

My car is Mazda 6, 2005, 2.0, Diesel, 136 hp, Manual gears, Station Wagon.

For the past 4-5 days the following issue has started to occur:

When I start the engine for the first time in the morning, it would run for a few second and it will die. The second time I try to start it, it would take a few more second than usual to start (maybe even double the time), but after it starts for the second time, the issue dissapears for the day. I drive around all day, stopping and starting the engine without any problems. Then the next day when I start the engine for the first time in the morning, the exact same issue occurs. This has been going on for almost a week now.

Does anyone have an idea what exactly is causing the problem?

Hello,

I think that it has something to do with the fueling. Have you tried changing fuel filter ? Try to fit a non return valve on the return line of the pump. Maybe it is SCV but you have to see rail pressures when starting it in the morning, see desired pressure vs real. ECU is asking 500-600 bar when you start engine ( cold engine ) and then it settles at 350 bar. ( 300 bar on cold engine ). Glow plugs according to me is not an issue because this engine fire up in cold weather without them.

...or try to change the fuel station, try fuel from another station. These "winter" fuels are crap, no lubrication and a lot of additives for the fuel not to freeze.

Try some of this and write back
