I believe it's the driveshaft rattling. Take a look/listen to the video (may need to crank the audio to really get a feel for it ;))

VIDEO w/Audio (Right click save as... 3MB file)

It's noticable when idling at a stop light, or in parking lot. Any one else have this issue, or can concur that it's the drive shaft rattling?

i haven't noticed that yet, but i'll give a look/listen this afternoon. i cannot really tell what the source of the sound is- have you noticed it getting worse under certain driving conditions vs. idling? i.e. when more power is shifted to/from the rears?

The driveshaft isn't even in motion right there right? That leads me to believe the driveshaft per se is not rattling but maybe something else is that's near it is too close. It could be from a low engine idle, It's still a 4 cylinder under there and they do vibrate, like it or not. :D

I'd guess it is a heat shield somewhere in the exhaust system.

Doesn't happen while driving at all. Only happens when idling. The noise seems to be coming from right where the rear drive shaft connects.

We did have a problem with ONE of the MSP 6's at the training seminar on them. Which turned out to be a transmission mount broken, but it was definately noticeable when driving  .

It might even be something as simple as a piece of gravel stuck in the heatshield etc. I don't think it's a mechanical failure but I'm sure sitting at a light it's an annoyance :D

You may want to see if the bushing at that connection is good, could have a factory imperfection or a tear etc.

I agree with escortlvr's post, if you are sitting here the driveshaft is not spinning therefore i do not believe that to be your problem.
