For those of you with the bose head unit (which is the same head as the optional 6 disk changer for the base model) does the head unit have RCA pre-outs in the back? I thought some one mentioned that it did. I would love to add that unit so as to not screw up the look of the car and then add my own amp and speakers. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

None of the OEM head units have RCA outputs. The only way to get them is to use what we call in the industry HIgh Low converters. Which converts the high level speaker output to a low level RCA output. This will give you the ablilty to add your own amps.

This should answer your question - Bose has pre-outs other systems don’t . The cables are labelled on their mantling ( very small letters cause very small cables ) if you pull the silver plate out an you look on the units u will see.

How to pull out the silver plate – follow the Link http://home.online.no/~rekse/mazda6/gallery.htm

There is one extra screw not shown on the pictures it´s shown HERE http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze4k9fn/...ages/sscrew.jpg

It’s all from the forum
