I noticed that this engine ends up at 4k or above quite a bit when I drive it. Even at highway speeds, the car is at 3k at 70mph. When I drove to miami, the tach was between 3k and 4.5k(70-100mph) for 4 hrs. When this car has 100k miles, will it be burning tons of oil like those honda CRX's? I granny drove my automatic sentra and never took it past 3 and it burned oil only on the highway(133k miles on it). This car is a manual and the fun doesnt start until 3k. I usually shift at 4-4.5k.

If anyone has my type of driving habits, please post. I just don't want my car burning tons of oil when I hit the 100k mark.

You have a 50k warranty. Don't worry about this stuff, the engine's built for high speed running. As long as you don't redline it every time you can, then you will be ok. Do your oil changes every 5k (and keep the paperwork!) in case anything goes wrong.

If you think you need an extended warranty, try www.authorizedFordwarranties.com for peace of mind. You should be fine though.

ENJOY the car!!! :)
