Yeah, it's 1/8" short and one sleeve needs to be larger. The front bolt is the same socket size as the rear (17mm), however the diameter of the shaft is larger, thus it wouldn't fit through either sleeve on the AWR mount because both of their sleeves are the size of the smaller bolt. Clearly an oversight on AWR's part. It wouldn't be a problem if my drill press wasn't getting repaired, but unfortunately that's not the case.

I'm calling them on my lunch break. I am also going to call Street Unit, who I ordered them from to let them know not to fill any orders until AWR responds.

I doubt they would ship these without testing them, any chance different build dates have slightly different setup? of do you think this was a manufacturing error (maybe the forgot to drill out the "big" side)?

just spoke with Tony at AWR - the mount is based off the mount designed for the Mazdaspeed6 pace car which was a joint effort between Mazda, AWR and a few other companies. Truly he is wodnering why it does not fit. He is ordering up a variety of mazdaspeed6 engine mounts to see where the mistake may have been made.

per tony at AWR on the mount;

we have sold a few and do
not have any problems on the vehicles we have our parts on, but [ big
but] there may be a superseded part number and that is what we are
looking into. Mazda has done this before!

No silly - "if the glove does not fit, you must acquit" :nana:

I think he meant, "If the mount doesn't fit, it's a piece of sh*t!"

Didn't another member have to drill out the CPE mount when they first came out?
[/b]

I had to drill out the washers, not the mount itself.

I was just making light of the situation using the late Johnny Cochran's famous phrase. I think everyone else got that.

from AWR;

Ken the attached photo's show three of the four mounts available for the
Mazda 6. This is it , there are no more.

GN3B-39-04XA - MAZDA6 4 CYLINDER AUTO AND STANDARD TRANS CARS

GP9A-39-040A - MAZDASPEED 6 ONLY - STANDARD TRANS ONLY AVAILABLE

GK2C-39-040B - MAZDA6 V6 STANDARD TRANS CARS ONLY

GP7D-39-040A - MAZDA6 V6 AUTO TRANS CARS ONLY

The additional brackets and bolt through holes are different among the
four mounts but the mazdaspeed does not have any extra brackets.

The mount we do for the Mazdaspeed is correct and confirmed!

Ps the Mazda 3 mount and the mazdaspeed mount will be the same item.
There is a reinforcement on the Mazda 3 but it is not necessary with our
mount. pics included.

this leads me to believe the mount in question here was a one off faulty fabrication, etc.

I have tried to install this mount as well and it doesnt fit for me either. Engine side bolt is too big for the sleeve or the sleeve is too small.

Im awaiting a response hopefully this will be addressed by them sending me a larger sleeve.
