Well the last few weeks I've been checking ebay for a 2004 display. I lost on one but won one that included the storage box for $150 bucks a couple weeks ago. My storage box was broken so I went for it. Sorry if it was one of you guys I bidded against

Anyway I installed it today and how cool it was to see "HELLO' again.
Damn it was so simple to change it out !

i agree. once you get the hang of it. its very easy. i could swap one out and get everything back assembled in under 15 min without even really rushing it. its so simple.

not really. lol. there a ton of broken ones out there. id say if someone wants to buy it off you, id def be selling it.

not really, but I want to take it apart and see If I can figure out how to get these things functioning again.

finding a cheaper solution than the dealer is my goal, because just because you have a good one now....... doesn't mean it won't fail again

Yeah I know what you mean , I was thinkin the same thing. Might see what's inside now that I have it out. One thing I noticed with this one is that the dimmer doesn't work .

OOPS !!!!!!! The dimmer does work

Forgot that it only works with headlights on .

hey dont feel bad. not too long ago I had to ask how to turn on the light in my glove box......... could not for the life of me figure it out....... had someone remind me you have to have the HLs on for it to illuminate.

Then again, I go in there all of 1ce or twice a year..... and usually durning the day.

Flipper,

Did you ever get a bad unit to look at? Also, could you post some pictures. I found a place that has the LCD for $60.00 but I believe it's just the LCD itself that probably needs to be soldered to the circuit board and I'm wondering how hard that is to get to.
