So I have the Mazdaspeed CAI on. I want to do work on my car and want to disconnect the battery for safety's sake. However, I thought I heard/saw that if you have a CAI and disconnect the battery, it will mess things up on the engine computer, like a redline at 5k or something.

Can anybody validate/invalidate that?

Also, when you are disconnecting the battery, does it matter if you disconnect either positive or negative?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think that would happen.

Disconnect positive first.

:nono:

You disconnect the negative terminal. Disconnecting the positive terminal might accidentally short the sensors.

+1 karma for 2poor4MS6 for following the cardinal rule of auto repair: Hood up? Then negative terminal disconnect.

Or more like hood up? Write down stereo presets and settings, then disconnect battery.
