Can somebody please tell me if you do the diode trick, what will happen to the A/F ratio when the car is idling, crusing and when you hit the floor?

Will the diode restrict the A/F ratio when you floored the gas pedal, because its reading 0.45v constantly? if so, will it damage the engine?

those tricks haven't worked well with the US Spec ecu's. it makes a change for a bit, but the ecu tends to relearn it's way around the "trick" going back to normal. only benefit is if you reset your battery every few days.

...but that's the US cars

Thanks MrTea. Yes you are right about the ecu's relearning (around the diode trick and back to normal). The diode trick did not work for me and the mileage droped (no CEL).

I have now installed home made 555 timer (o2 simulator). Bought the parts and assembled according to the diagram (audi link). Lets see if the mileage improves compared to the diode trick.

One thing I noticed with the diode is that the rpm was always slightly higher than the o2 555 simulator fix.

Will keep you posted.
