Not sure what that thing is like at pulling codes, but I would guess it's not so hot. The DH sucks at pulling codes, but the AP will yank all of them... including the ones the DH doesn't "see."

Well, I'm getting the AP regardless, but until I do so, this thing seems to do a very nice job of data logging. It logs everything from MAF to LTFT to A/F Ratio, etc. Seems like a decent solution that's constantly updated and a good monitoring device.

Just curious if anybody has used it and can shed some light on it from experience.

Gotcha. Def make sure it has Mazda PIDs though, as I'm pretty sure KR is a Mazda specif one. Same goes for Command Eq (ECu commanded afrs as opposed to actual)... there are several others, but I haven't looked at them since I set up my DH months ago. The DH is only $230 at SU, and I've seen them FS for $180-$200 used. Just something to consider :)

Really? My DH pulled up all two of the codes i've ever had on this car fine. Even told me what was up with it.

I never plug in the AP unless i want to flash a new map on the car so I guess i wouldn't know how good that is. :S

Yeah of course. The thing that's appealing to me with this is that I can get a dongle for the OBD-II port and connect my iPhone to it wirelessly and run the app that way. No wires and crap to mess with.

Yeah if there were codes the DH couldn't read, you wouldn't know, lol. Superskates told me about this shortcoming of the DH, and there have been at least 2 times where the DH said "no DTCs found" (or whatever it says), and then immediately after, I tried it with the AP, and it pulled a P0xxx. Also, the DH doesn't clear codes permenantly... they can come back after clearing them. It's not due to the code being thrown again, but it's more like the DH can't always fully pull it from the ECU's memory. With the AP, it pulls the code for good, unless the issue comes back, and then it will re-trip the code as it should. In other words, the DH can give you false positive if you cleared a code w/ the DH.

To add more confusion... some persistent CELs (such as doing the egr delete, etc) will SOON be able to be permenantly pulled with the AP :)

been hearing that for too long.

and is it an update for all APs or just their new ones?
lol, well superskates did some of the Beta testing for it a couple months back, but there are some other goodies that are coming out along with it. I haven't been following it as I haven't had a car to tune. And it is for all APs... it's a software update :)
