That 3.5 has only one really distinguishing feature that differentiates if from the 3.5 used in RWD Fords: internal water pump. And they fail. Spectacularly. Around 100k miles. If you decide to use it, be sure to fit a new pump first. Oh, and it takes a proprietary Ford cam locking tool (2 pack) that locks the cams for the VVT and goes on the cams over cylinders 2 & 5, so the valve covers have to come off.
That is assuming that the engine is the same one that carried to the Flex, Explorer, MKT and later Taurus. If its an earlier engine and not related, I take all that back and claim ignorance.
In my Flex, the 3.5 looks gigantic tho - way bigger than the Duratec 3.0.
