Had this AEM intake laying around from the Mazda 6s we trading in to get the CX7....so I figured what the hell.

The Mazda 6s:

It does help with the response. Midrange/top end feels a lot better. And finally it sounds like a turbo vehicle.

maybe if you remove that stock intake air grabber on the driverside you might get more air to the intake instead of heat soaked engine compartment air.

Actually the way it looks, it directs outside air directly towards the intake. Then again I could be wrong

Well, being that it is an SUV you can actually get away with the Short-Ram. All you gotta do is monitor your gas mileage and see if it's helping out any!
