is this not eliminated by the fix he stated? also, is there a big difference between the whole CPE system, and the injen system with the mafci fix?
[/b]

Not that I have read about. It seems on the CP-E website they claim bigger HP gains with their CPE intake over Injen w/fix , but its understandable, they want you to buy thier product. But the gains seem to be minimal enough where it wouldnt really matter.

Also in talking with CP-E they say there is a way to revert back to stock so dealer would never know about the MAFci fix...however i have heard from some people on here that you must cut one wire and their is no way around that??? Is this true? Or can you use like an alligator clip to tap into the wire in stead of cutting???

The CEL is eliminated if the Injen is accompanied with the Mafci fix.

The CPE system will yield a little bit more power than the Injen/Mafci fix, but not that much. Most people wouldn't be able to "feel" the difference between the two. Remember that both of these systems require you splicing into the ecu. Some dealerships may be anal about that if you are getting work done by them. Thats the only reason I went with the Mazdaspeed CAI. I only have 8400 miles on my car so I still have a lot of warranty left. Didn't want to give the dealership any type of excuses for not working on my car.

Not sure if you posted while i was writing my first post, but a guy from CP-E told me they use connectors so you can revert everything back to stock...I would love to believe him and buy one, but i do not understand why so many people on here say otherwise???

Wow, I love this thread. Full of half truths and complete fallacies. You people need to do some reading...
[/b]

Well if you know so much then please input...

I did more than reading, I contacted the people at CP-E, and this is what he said... "Yes you could revert back to stock, only one wire is cut but we using connectors so that you can uninstall everything and the dealer will never know any changes have been made."

So after reading many threads about people saying you cannot revert back i was curious as to what he was talking about. So unless you know more than the guys from CP-E who make the intake or have some input that is actually worth something, I suggest you go back into your hole and be miserable.

First off, we use ENGLISH on these boards. I don't speak retard.

If you use the connectors that CPE supplies (but RECCOMENDS THAT YOU NOT use) then you will almost guaranteed have problems. They will come loose and your car will stall, shut off, surge, etc.

There is no way around having to cut the MAF wire, that's how the CPE unit works. Therefore, if a dealer really gets in there, yes, they will see what you did.

The only way to properly put in the cpe unit is to solder it in. Also, having talked EXTENSIVELY to every employee at CPE except the new guy, none of them would EVER say what you quoted them as saying. They do not have to lie to sell their product. If you haven't done the research on items before installing them on your car, then you are better off leaving the car stock and not modding it.

Now in the future, featureturtle03, do not post snied comments as you will be humiliated.

Guess what you f'in idiot, we use english grammar on this website and when someone puts quotes around a statement it means they are...Quoting someone, who knew??? So you are calling the people at CP-E retards? Fine with me, I found them to be nice and helpful, but whatever you think of them is your own business. If you want I would love to forward you the email they sent to me if that will shut you up and make you stop being such a dick?

Also in the English dictionary the word "snied" does not ever come up, however, in your so called world of reatrd maybe you do use it. But I assume you made a mistake while typing, like the guy from CP-E, and meant snide. Either way maybe you should get a life, stop being bitter, and post helpful things on threads rather than wasting everyones time...Thanks

And if you cannot conduct yourself in a pleasent manner and act accordingly on an informative website whose main purpose is to get information from others who have it, I would suggest you are better off getting off the site and get on some mood enhancing pills

And also i would just go with the CP-e intake, if ur not planning to sell ur car anytime soon, then dont really worry about converting it back to stock. Im buying the CP-e intake from sum1 on here, and im not really worried about converting it back. Cuz i dont really plan on trading or selling the car. But im doing to much at once though, lol. Got the Injen SES Super Exhaust, tranny cooler, and the gauge pod and gauges that i havent even installed yet...lol. Goodluck.

I was just worried about voiding the warranty, not re-sale. But I am still leaning on getting the intake anyways.

If you are worried about the warranty follow my advice in my previous post. If you are wanting the best increase in performance from an intake then CPE is your ticket.

The guys at theRPM store said the chances of a dealer getting under and looking at the ECU would be minimal so I may go ahead and chance it with the CPE MAFci.
