Hi newbie here :)

Recently acquired a mazda 6 2.2 diesel sport... 185hp variant .. Great car and I love it!

Recently the cars dpf light came flashing on so I went the the processes of checking what it was.

I came to the conclusion it was due a service since its been around 12000 miles since the last. And I done a service about 5000 miles ago but didn't know about the correlation between servicing and dpf light so I reset it via the fuse box method.

Anyway then on cold start ups in the morning I get the faintest rattle noise when between 2000-2500 rpm, thinking this could be the timing chain but it was replaced at 37500 by mazda so surely it should be in spec and of it wasn't the dpf light would flash on again to indicate an on going problem?

As soon as it's up to the slightest temp there is no noise at all.

Smooth power delivery and good fuel economy.

Could it be the oil strainer starting to clog? Or the wrong oil used?

Would appreciate someone to shed some light here.

Thanks!!

Gizzy
