03 Mazda 6, 2.3L @ 86,625 Miles. Driving yesterday and the Yellow check engine light came on at a red light. Nothing was out of sorts, so I decided to keep driving. So far, everything still runs well.

I need to know what this means. Is there a way to get engine codes? Any links that show you how?

What could this mean for my 6, bad o2 sensor or something? What are the common causes of Check Engine Light and that car still running like nothing happeded?

Could be literally hundreds of things.

I'd take it at an Autozone or Advanced Auto and borrow a scanner to see what the code is. Be sure that it's compatible with the 6 (CAN-compatible scanner), and follow the instructions.

Once you have the fault code, re-post with it, or run a search, and you should find out your problem.

Alright, I wanted to try and reset everything. So I unhooked the gas cap and battery for 5 minutes. Plugged it back in and everythign was fine and the code went away.
Bad news is, that every now and then, I get an idle problem (wanting to stall out). Everything is fine when I press the gas though. The code has not come back.

I've been researching and it seems like people with this issue have a vacuum leak somewhere.

Drive to autozone/wherever and get the damn code pulled like Mike said. It should still in there as a historical code to pull, just so you know. I wouldn't just assume it was something, and move on....

Question for all you guys : (i figured it would be easier to write on this thread opposed to making my own)

When you start the car, does the check engine light come on? I'm having some acceleration issues and usually I thought the CEL comes on when you start the car...but i'm not seeing it, so i'm wondering if possibly it's burnt out (or somebody pulled it) and the car IS throwing one, im just not seeing it.

Brownie points for anyone that can take a picture for me

The CEL is located in the lower right corner of the tach, and it should light up (it's yellow showing an outline of an engine) for the first few seconds when you start the engine. If it doesn't light up, I'd get it fixed.
