Hello guys,

Sorry maybe it's a related question, i was looking for changing my batterie..
Here it's -18dreg celcius, and my car doesn't want to start. I think the batterie are on the end of his life..

I would like to know if i need to get advice about changing the batterie myself about electronics? On my old Mini Cooper, change batterie was a pain in the ass.. because needed to reprogram somes feature to lets start the car and needed to be done at dealer. (Maybe a normal garage too but dealer says they need to do the job .. yeah right money talk! ) hehe

If i unplug batterie and plug the new one, i need to do something else on my mazda6 2015?

Thanks and sorry for the noob question!
I'm afraid since the mini cooper !! :)

Not sure if the 2015 still came with the i-eloop. If so, make sure you get an AGM battery.

The auto up-down windows will need to be reset and you lose your trip odometers. If you are using one or both for service related things (e.g. oil change) record them before you disconnect it as they will get zeroed. Oh, and of course the clock.

I know this happens on the Gen I but don't recall doing it on the Gen III last year when I replaced the battery. Maybe I'm forgetting (more) things.

I don't remember reading this on the owner's manual but I remember someone mentioned this on our local forum. I never did this thing and even those from boys from the dealership don't do this. What will happen if you don't do this? Nothing happened to mine last a couple of times I removed the negative terminal.

I don't have i-Eloop but I have that small terminal.

That came from a TSB.
I read that if you don't do it that way it can affect the battery management system.

Put a new battery in mine and nothing had to be reset. It may depend on how long the car is left with no electrical power. Most electronics now days will retain setting for a short time with internal capacitors.
