Drove home from work, parked, two hours later got in my car, it starts but even flooring it I get no reaction on my tachometer. Instead of a normal idle it is very rough. Any ideas? Any better info I can provide to get more ideas?

2007 Mazda6 2.3 i4 manual
Check engine light is on and the traction control light was on too (or blinking, I forget).

Thanks.

id pull the wire on the battery, and let it reset. then see if its still an issue. also since our throttle is all electronic. double check to make sure the plug is plugged in all the way at your gas pedal. and at the throttle body.

I recently had a problem similar to this, the car would start run very rough and die almost immediately. After a few attempts it eventually flooded itself and would not start at all.

I checked the spark plugs, gapped them to the required spec, checked numerous sensors, belts, fuses and whatever else could be easily accessible.

What I ended up doing was adjusting the crank shaft position sensor about 1/8" up to adjust the timing.

The car started right up and ran like a champ. Not sure what caused the timing to get off in the first place, I suspect it to be a cam shaft position sensor issue but have not had the money to buy a new one yet.

The crank shaft sensor on my 04 6i 2.3l was on the passenger side inner wheel well right off the block by the crank pulley.

Hope this helps, took me three days of headache before I arrived at this.

Gas pedal works just fine today. It doesn't feel much warmer than last night, hovering around freezing though. I don't have enough confidence to drive it 50mph on a 1 lane road with 6 inch medians surrounded by barriers but I think I can manage to get some codes off of it today.

I got 2 duplicate codes:
P0606 - PCM Processor Fault

I am not totally sure what I am doing but the frame that I think was captured with one of those codes said I was around 3000rpm but when I had this issue my tachometer was just below 1000, not sure if that matters or not. I didn't not see a CEL while driving home.

Thanks for all the tips so far, these forums are always very helpful.

I don't think I could check those things myself. Is that something I should have done at a dealer or will any shop do? Any idea about what that could cost me?
