so my 07 mazda6 has this problem that popped up recently where it starts jerking if i press the gas a bit too hard. If I accelerate slowly and smoothly though, the jerking is non existant. It doesnt matter which gear im in, the jerking is present if I really step on the gas. Also I noticed that the car jerks more if I have the heater on at the same time. I recently changed sparkplugs and air filter but the problem is still there. What other reasons could there be for this jerking problem?

blaznazn22, I feel your pain. I currently have the same issue with my 2006 Mazda6. I have inspected the vacuum system as well as the intake for leaks and cracks. I have cleaned the O2 sensor. While troubleshooting I found that the valve cover gasket was leaking, and I repaired that. Problem remains. I've taken it to a local mechanic whom could not isolate the issue. I've also taken it to a Mazda dealership who charges $120 dollars for computer analysis. The dealer was also unable to isolate the issue, but they were real quick on getting their $120. If I find a resolve for this issue, I will definitely share the info with you. I have posted in the newbie section.

I know it has been a while, but I finally found the issue with bucking while accelerating issue. It is a bit hard to believe, but the issue in my 2006 Mazda 6 was the primary O2 sensor. You would have thought if the O2 sensor was malfunctioning it would have thrown a code. The nice thing about the o2 sensor failure, all you have to do to test this fix is to unplug the sensor and take a test drive. You do not need to spend any cash shot gunning the issue. I hope this works for you, it took me approximately 10 months to find the issue. If your sensor has two plugs, unplug the larger of the two, it looks to me like Mazda is separating the sensor's heater into a different connector.

I have the same issue. Two mechanics unfortunately were not able to locate the problem that is causing the car to jerk when I accelerate. Not sure what to do.
