I was about to wire up my boost gauge lighting when I noticed that the fuses in the kick panel fuse box are a super stubby type. They have no prongs on them. I was going to use a mini fuse tap that looks like the fuses in the engine bay were they have prongs about 3/8" long.

Can this be used safely in the interior fuse panel?

If you just need to hook up the lighting for the guage you can connect it to the bulb in the ash tray.
