K&n typhoon intake is the least aggressive and has never thrown a code (that i know of) but has been measured to still give us a few horses and it sounds good also. Ive had it for about 2 years and no problems, even got it on ebay for super cheap. just check out the K&n website and look up your car, they have all the numbers and dyno graphs.

Edit: i have the v6 but there is still a typhoon kit for the 2.3 i4. i would guess its just as reliable, just check the website and your model year.

You could always go the CP-E route, its a lot of money, but it should fix it so theres no code.

i've heard the mazdaspeed intake will work also? not 100% but just what ive read around the forums. the three that have been listed for you seem like the most reliable when it comes to not getting engine codes and also the three tiers of price. just do your research on whatever intake your looking at getting and plenty of people have all of them and have posted about them.
