I found a mazdaspeed6 in my area and was just wondering if you guys would buy one that was in an accident? The front left side of the car was damaged which was claimed for $11,000, 3 years ago. Some of the lines on the front bumper and hood are off, which the dealership said they would fix but it drove perfectly fine and there were no issues. Car's engine and transmission seemed perfect and strong. Under the hood, it looked like all the panels that were damaged were replaced such as the fender, hood, bumper since they looked extremely clean compared to other components under the hood. The car comes with a 10 year or 250,000km warranty on the motor for free which is really attractive. Basically about 90% of the mazdaspeed6's I went to see were in an accident and it's almost impossible to find one with low mileage and a low price that wasn't in an accident. I'm mostly considering this one due to the warranty. I'm just looking for opinions if it's worth it or will pose a lot of problems down the road.

It depends on what was damaged. If it was just body panels, and they were fixed with OEM parts you might be ok. I would stay away from any ms6 that had frame damage, airbag deployment, etc. It all comes down to price, but for 15-16k you should be able to get a nice ms6 with a clean carfax. Maybe not in your immediate area, but just keep looking.

$11k of damage?

I'd keep looking if I were you. OEM parts or no, once that metal has been bent, it's never the same. And who knows what other issues you may have that may or may not be covered by the warranty.

Honestly, if your budget is that much too low, then maybe you should either save up a little more or look at a different ride. Maybe a Speed3?

Good luck with your search.

Well it's selling for $16,800, obviously was gonna try to get it to 15,000-15,500 because of the damage. But it makes more sense to wait for a clean one to come by then to take a chance on this. Thanks for the reply's.
