Hey everybody, I own a 2003 Mazda 6s (76,000 miles). Recently I was driving my car and the clutch stuck to the floor. Took it to the dealership cuz I was out of town, and didn't know any reputable shops in the area. Turns out my throw out bearing had shattered, causing the transmission shaft damage. They recommended a new tranny, but at 4000 bucks that wasn't gonna happen. Had the shop manger show me what was wrong with it, and I could visibly see that the shaft was scratched, and scored a little bit. They ended up installing a whole new clutch kit, and smoothing out the shaft (sanding it back smooth). Has anyone ever had this done? If so, is it a reliable fix? Car seems to shift fine, although I think I'm gonna adjust the height of the clutch (too much free play and high engagement point). Any help is appreciated.
