So this morning I was driving up my front street and I was coming up to the yield sign so I went to put on my brakes and there was basically nothing there and I went right through the sign. I pumped the brakes a few times and they started to work. I drove the car for about 30 miles throughout the day and they have been fine since. I was wondering if this has happened to anybody else? It was just above freezing today and I parked the car last night in 1st gear with no ebrake, as I always do.

Thanks

Check the fluid level with the car cold. There is usually a line for cold and a line for hot. If you are under the cold line, that would explain why you had a problem until the car was warmed up. Otherwise, you might be having an issue with the master cylinder.

Crap pads or high temp pads will do that when cold.
I had crap autozone lifetime replacement pads years ago. When I pulled out of the driveway I would drag the brakes for a little bit to get them warmed up and If ive been driving for awhile without braking I would again drag them a bit. The transition from operating temp to not operating temp was surprisingly sharp in winter.

There is no such thing as a cold/hot line for the brake reservoir. Its min/max.

Ive heard of people having issues when theyve been cruising and hitting the brakes extremely fast after and having no pedal. Your booster requires vacuum to apply brakes and has stored vacuum aswell. As for having no pedal id check the fluid level that will usually tell you if you have a leak or the pads are low. Check pad life and all lines and calipers. If everything checks out good a flush will bleed out any air in the lines.
