I'm finally replacing OEM front pads after 72k on my 2014 Mazda 6. The original pads have two shims but the centric posi quiet have only 1. Do I need to reuse the outer shim from Mazda? Thank you for any help.
No you shouldn’t have to use the 2nd back from the oem, even brand new oem parts I get as a technician come with just one backing plate for the pads. The only times you do have to reuse the backing pad is when there isn’t one but that’s usually just the rear pads if the ones you get don’t come with them, that’s for mostly 13 and up models but I’m sure it applies to others. This is also using oem straight from the parts desk at my dealer parts.
