Well i've been battling this car for awhile now. She got the rust issue which isn't so bad. The camshaft tick came back again after fixing it once. I did the repair again yesterday with no success, but that's not even the biggest issue.

I would always get a check engine light and the car would stay stuck in 3rd gear and would not come out unless i shut the car off and put her in neutral then restarted. This kicked on when traction control was off and I would have alot of wheel spin. But the code would always go off after a few days. Well I finally removed the full cold air intake figuring the MAF was getting wet and put in a short ram. Well the codes have been on and have not come off on there own. Not sure if there is a different issue.
Here is the list of CE codes :D

P0113
P0103
P2189
P2195
P2197
P2187
P0422
P0455

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I know a few of the codes are related to the IAT, MAF and O2 sensors.

P0113-IAT sensor high input
P0103-MAFS high input
P2189-system to lean at idle bank 2
p2195-bank 1 sensor one stuck lean
p2197-bank 2 sensor one stuck lean
p2187-too lean at idle
P0422-cat low effiency bank 1
P0455-evap leak

3/4s of which are related to the MAF. This either means there is vac leak, or a MAFS issue.

what kind of SRI are you running?

odds are you are doing a ton of damage riding the way you are, if you are truly running as lean as the car believes you are. Could be you have an improper size intake tube at the maf housing and it isn't metering properly.....

Well ive been trying to find my stock airbox for over 6 months with no luck. also have posts all over trying to find one for sale but have no luck. The short ram is just the stock intake tube down to the mazdaspeed maf housing then to a K&N airfilter. If it is really that bad to do so I can put the full intake back on. Could it be a possible bad MAF or dirty connection?

is the AEM MAFS holder attached to the rubber intake boot? or do you have a short piece of pipe in-between.

if no pipe that is your issue.

you can get a short piece of 3" pipe at autozone for ~10 bucks.

will still be a SRI, without the vac leak you are likely occuring. cleaning the maf is a good idea as well as the clip. u can use maf cleaner(electronic parts cleaner) for both... but doubt that is the issue.

yes YES YES.

the cracks and splits in the hose are inducing extra unmetered air. the MAFS isn't able to adjust for it because it goes in post maf........ thus you are leaning the car out.

again this is very dangerous for the health of your engine.

Ps you can check for leaks with a can of carb cleaner, but regardless you need to replace the whole piece.

I replaced the stock tube with a new one and the code went off for a good 40miles. Its pretty wet now and im not sure if the filter is wet and throwing another code because of it? I have been searching for awhile for a stock box to hopefully fix this..
