Ok so my 2010 mazda 6 blew a head gasket i can either pay $1700 in repairs or try a quick fix " bars leak" to try and buy some time..one of my cooling fans is not working as well as the fan modulator i have to unplug my battery everytime i shut my car off as the one fan that does work will not shut off. The mechanic has the part to replace the fan and the module but told me its not worth doing...does anyone think that maybe the one side that was out would cause the head gasket to blow...btw car NEVER over heated except for the one time and i realized it was blown! No engine lights ever alerted me that there was anything wrong...any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated?

There is only one way to fix a blown head gasket -- replace it and, if the deck or head is out of true, fix THAT (or it'll happen again.)
