Bent Spindle

I have a 2006 Mazda 6, I want to know if anyone knows how easy it is to bend one of the spindles. Here is what happened, I was making a left turn into a parking lot and the right front tire hit the curb, I guess I hit it just so that it took a large chunk of metal out of the rim and threw the alignment off. When I took it to have the alignment fixed I was told that the spindle was also bent and it would cost $500+ to have it repaired. Being that it was a tire kingdom type place and not the dealership I'm a little wary.

Thanks
Steve

It is very difficult to bend the spindle. You're far more likely to bend the shock, tie rod or control arm first. The spindle is complicated and expensive, $500 isn't too bad, but have them show you where it's bent before commiting to anything.
cant you just buy a new axel for cheaper? wouldnt it include the spindle part?

Only if it was a solid axle like on the back of a pickup truck.
