Belt making noises

My ms6 has about 8000 miles and recently I notcied that there's a fairly loud noise coming from the engine. It sounds like a "belt" noise. I noticed it when the car was at idle. Is this normal ? What could be causing the noise ? It's also intermitent.

Hi so far no one has responded to my question

I've done some search... could it be that my problem is related to what zoomzoom6 had on his car? Both our cars have about the same amount of mileage on em.

Many things can cause this noise.

I suggest taking your car into the dealership. Have them look at the rear ale/differential as well.
