New guy here. I have a 2003 Mazda6, and my remote is starting to act up. Sometimes it seems as if it's not going to work, but finally it does, after much pushing of the button.

After reading through lots of posts, it appears that the issue could be one of three things:
(1) Dying transmitter
(2) Dying battery
(3) Remote needs to be reprogrammed, using the steps found on this forum

Anyone know what battery the keyfob takes? I was not given a second keyfob at time of purchase, so I have just purchased a second one online.

look in the user manual, it should tell you how to open and replace battery.

sounds like the battery. to replace the battery, start by removing the key ring. then, pry apart the case at the ring end. install new CR2025 battery, with the positive up, and replace the case.
