Ordered one of these off aliexpress, my model is by a brand called EKIY. Took almost a month to get here, wiring wasn’t too complicated. Should be plug and play if you don’t have bose. Comes with hardware and wiring for manual or auto ac. I may have read it doesn’t work for 2003-2005 auto climate. If you do have bose you need to cut your amp signal wires that go to each speaker and hook them up to rcas. You can then attach the rcas to the appropriate left/right front/back combo to the audio out rcas connection on the android unit. You will also need to do the same for the remote wire from your harness which is black/blue to your amp power wire that should be loose on the android unit. You have to attach your vents and ac control panel along with their ac control board with buttons they include with the dash kit. I was able to set up my steering controls easily after setting up the android to recognize my car by setting the canbus. It has WiFi/Bluetooth/4g if you add your own SIM card/gps and can do a plethora of functions much like an android device can. I have yet to download other apps or really explore the capabilities part listening to music or playing videos. I’m having trouble getting gps setup, not sure if I’m missing something or I’m not getting a signal. But here is the result:

Nice. Looks like it covers the vent a bit. Is that just an illusion?

I got excited after putting a Bose sub in my non-Bose OEM wagon that I also installed an under-dash interface (from chinamart) to replace my GROMM that never worked right.

Seeing that makes me think I should have taken a different path.
Can it integrate with a back-up camera?

Well Done! 👍

Yes it has a hookup option for a rear camera, I just didn’t order one with mine. If you get an android unit I highly recommend downloading a good Eq from the play store so you can better adjust the sound as the default interface doesn’t offer much. I’m using an eq based off re equalizer and a music app with good eq settings called poweramp.
Also it does cover the bottom of the vents slightly. The screen is massive.

This is a shot I just took to give you a better idea. I purchased Agama car launcher to change the UI and have a customizable layout for the home screen.

Since it uses a canbus box it also shows your temperature and what not on the screen as well as your digital display. The steering wheel controls also work and are programmable.

Added a reverse camera no problem and installed new amp for additional sub. I'm keeping most the bose guts for now as I have them eq'd and sounding decent, but im replacing the front 6.5's with drop in 2 ohm CDT's. I just hate the idea of running all new speaker wire through all four doors.

Oh dang, hadn't seen this thread yet!

Great work so far! I've done my share of stereo builds in cars so I always appreciate a good build thread. Keep us up to date :)

It now looks OEM! I've been wanting to replace mine but I have yet to wait for the update on another thread by our forum member. Good excuse for me to keep my wallet fat.
😀

According to him, Bose doesn't work for now but it sounds great. He has to install another adapter for it to work. Everything else is fully functional.

My car came with bose and works fine, I used a PAC aoem-maz2 line out converter installed last in series after my android unit—>canbus adapter—>PAC LOC—>oem wiring harness. My speaker level wires are cut at this last oem harness and instead I have added rca ends to connect each speaker channel + and - to its own rca plug. The plugs are added to the cut wire where it is coming up from behind the dash in the wire spool. You then connect the rcas to the plugs you gained from the PAC aoem-maz2. This outputs a clean preamp signal from your android head unit to the signal wires for the bose amp. You will also need to wire the remote amp wire.
Always happy to help if you have any questions about setting up audio or video in the bose Mazda 6.

Simple setup to retain trunk space, may work up something more glamorous down the road. I just ran power down the driver side after the firewall grommet, rcas down the passenger side under carpet and tapped the factory bose sub power in the trunk connector as my remote on for the new amp. You can continue to use the bose sub or disconnect it if you wire up your remote before the connector at the bose sub.

Honestly for my needs this hits more than enough. It’s a 10 with a 1100w monoblock. The claims for the Watts on the amp are over hyped but it powers this little sub well. This woofer in particular can be set to 2 or 4 ohm if you open the box and change it(setting it to 2ohm would allow a 2ohm compatible amp to supply more power than having it set at 4). I didn’t change mine as 4ohm was loud enough for me. I just needed to fill those lows for bass and drums, I’m set at about 100-115hz low pass right now.

You need to make sure the amp is getting turned on via the "remote" wire, also need to send clean audio signals to the bose amp (the wires in the bose harness that send speaker signal are flat, not amped or modified by the stock headunit). An example is that a regular pioneer headunit outputs a signal ready for speakers to accept, however ours goes to the amp, and THEN the speaker, so it needs to be a flat signal (such as from a PAC or using the headunit's L/R RCA's to tap into the stock bose wires).

I did this same install on my 2012 mazda 3 with bose as the 2006 mazda 6 with bose. It was honestly even easier in the 2012 using the mazda PAC

There's and blue/black stripe wire on the main harness. You can run it to the red acc wire to power the bose amp. Im still trying to figure how to connect the clock display though.

How do you connect the clock display? I couldn't find where it connects. I have bose system and I was able to run the amp remote wire to the acc wire instead of using rcas. But I have no idea where to connect the wire that goes to the display unit.
Hey.. From the AC dials in the pictures it looks like you have the 2003 model. I have just bought a 2003 model as well. I want to install an android head unit as well. I am seeing some head units from aliexpress. Can you suggest which one's are good.
