This is great! at least they are listening

=========================================================

Great news! We know that you're excited about other versions of the
MAZDA6, so we wanted to share our newest information. Our prior
communications indicated that we did not yet have official confirmation
that other MAZDA6 versions would be built in the United States.

We are now happy to announce the MAZDA6 hatchback and wagon models will
indeed be built for the U.S. market. We don't yet have an ETA on build
times, but we know that it'll be at least a little while after the
MAZDA6 sedan has been in-market.

If you'd like to receive future updates like these, please just let us
know.

We also have something wonderful to share with you about the MAZDA6! We
forwarded each and every comment, about the MAZDA6 build combinations,
to those people who make the decisions about product planning.

The Product group has just added six new build combinations for the
MAZDA6. Of these six new codes, four are aimed directly at meeting
customer requests for greater availability of ABS/TCS on the Mazda6i.
These new combinations are currently scheduled to be part of December's
production run for January 2003 availability.

Here are the details about all six new buildable combinations:

- The new combinations allow you to configure a MAZDA6i with ABS/TCS
only (both MT and AT).
- We also have a new combination for a MAZDA6i AT with Premium Package
only.
- For enthusiast customers who highly value safety, we will now offer
a MAZDA6i MT with the Premium Package, ABS/TCS, and SAB/SAC.
- We have also listened to customers? requests to expand Sport Package
availability.
- We have added a build combination that creates a MAZDA6i MT with
only Premium Package and Sport Package.
- The sixth additional combination is a MAZDA6i AT with Premium and
Sport Packages, ABS/TCS, and SAB/SAC.

Notes:
MT/AT = Manual/Automatic Transmission
ABS = Anti-lock Brake System
SAB/SAC = Side Air Bags/ Side Air Curtain
TCS = Traction Control System

We are listening and Mazda is trying to move as quickly as possible,
within the limitation of a complex manufacturing environment, to match
customer desires.

We hope these changes will demonstrate how important your opinions are
to Mazda. The MAZDA6 is a truly awesome car ? we hope you find yourself
in one soon!

I just got an email from Mazda too. I guess Mazda really does take customer comments seriously. Could you imagine Honda changing their packages around that quickly? Not me :)

Great job Mazda!!

Wow...this is good news...now how long before these new packages are reflected on the website....my guess would be before the official release date. Way to go Mazda...maybe I can finally scratch the Accord off the list now :)

Howbout having to settle for an automatic if you want a V6 sedan? Even though there where a huge amount of complaints about this throughout the 98-02 model cycle they ignored them and did it again for the new model. I own a 99 accord and love it.. but I don't want another 4cl. But I guess when you sell 400,000 cars a year you don't have to listen to a bunch of dingus'.

Hey Mazda if you listening please add the 17" rims as a stand-alone option. I don't want all the other "sport" fluff etc...and/or please change the sport package to an appearance package....or add stiffer shocks and sway bars to back the "sport" aspect of this package....see the Miata packages for further proof of decent package bundling.

TIA,
~Nanda
