Hi,

I bumped my Madza6 into some concrete. Please don't ask why :(.

Some pictures are attached.

I was told that this was minor and at most $200-$300 can fix it.
But given my current financial situation, I am not planning to have it fixed professionally. I don't care about the dent on the back bumper anyway. Nevertheless, I do like to see if I can make sure it does not rust. I have a touch-paint pen and the Quixx scratch remover. Not sure if they can do anything. What do you say? Your inputs are much appreciated.

Thanks.

Noooooooo!!! The horror!!! Just playing. I think the bumper is made from a polyurethane, so it will not rust. Only metal panels will rust. If you don't care about the dent, you can just use the touch up paint to try to hide the chip. The scratch remover will only remove swirls and light surface marks.

Good advice on the dent, the metal doesn't look buckled though is stretched a little at the bottom of the dent so it probably would look better then it is now.
It cost me $35.00 to get a passenger door dent popped three years ago by a guy that was at the dealer that day. You can't always do it but always try to have a curb on one side and do a lot of extra walking to the store.

Why do you keep talking about metal?? ALL newer cars have plastic bumpers, even SUV's do, using metal bumpers is SOOOO 1970's.

The black color you see is the plastic of the bumper where the paint and primer were possibly left on the concrete.

I think he meant plastic. Slip ups happen and no harm done.
