Hi,

While removing the air cleaner case to access the driver side lamps, I disturbed what seems to be a valve or some other adjustment. I looked it up in the repair manual and I believe it is related to the Variable Air Duct Control Solenoid.

Does anyone know:
1) Is proper adjustment critical to fuel economy or vehicle performance?
2) Can I easily re-set it on my own?

Thanks

define disturbed.

Did you unplug it? I have done so numerous times with no problems. Try resetting your ecu if it is causing you issues.

If it ends up being faulty, you can always remove the flapper beneath it and plug the tube from the solenoid with a nail. That will deactivate it.

if you are worried about the knob turning, then no, no worries at all as there is no adjustment in that. the knob actually just covers a vent hole from what i remember, though it's been a good 6 years since i saw that thing.

ttshark,

By disturbed, I mean that I rotated it. Yes, I unplugged it but it is not causing any issues. Interesting solution though.

MrTea,

Thanks, that was the reassurance I was looking for.
