Currently I'm running M1 0w20 in my 6i.

My oil light came on and apparently I'm low on oil. Well being that I can longer locate the 0w20, I was able to find the M1 5w20. So my question is, would it be a problem if I add one quart of the 5w20 to the 0w20?

The reason is because I am out of town and cannot change the oil completely until sometime next week and I don't want to drive around low on oil.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I know this is probably a dumb question. :yesnod:

No there wouldn't be a problem...but generally low oil conditions can result in major engine damage.

Did you recently have your oil changed? If you start hearing odd noises take the car to a dealer immediately before it strands you.

Low oil conditions in the 6 (even for a brief second) have a very high probability of causing a spun bearing, which usually results in bottom end damage.
