Dealer just called to tell me they can add the options I want at the port for less than at the dealer. This sounds like a pressure tactic to get me to make a decision - "hurry, it's at the port now" kind of thing.

Why would it be cheaper to add the options at the port? Or is he pulling my leg?

I'm shooting for around $2100 under msrp if they give me the trade in value I'm asking for.

(this is on a GT with all options but Navi)

I've read about manufaturers that use sub-contractors at the ports of entry to add options.

Everything from sunroofs to leather interiors. Once the car gets to the dealer, now you're talking structured overhead.

If he gives you the deal... moot point.

you're right. The only question is even if he gives me my price, could I have done better by hitting dealers this weekend?

There are several of these cars with the options I want at local dealers.
