So on Saturday night me & a friend decided to head up to Mohegan Sun Casino for some fun & games. Salivating at the thought of open interstate, in preparation I filled up the Speed6 with 93 Octane, checked the tires and pressure (which were good), and emptied out any unnecesary items out of the trunk to reduce weight. Also checked the oil & coolant, which was good

Then I moved my Beltronics RX-55 radar detector to the center of my windshield for superior front & rear protection. Picked up the friend at 10:15 p.m. and were off onto 295 North and then Route 6 West, and then I-395. Traffic was extremely light. Man, this damn car flies.

Rt 6 is fun to drive on. The road is well kept. The curves range from slight to stomach-churning. The road was virtually abandoned. A couple times I pulled over and practiced a few launches of 0-60, with noo cars in sight with 2-3 miles of visibility either way. The road is great for moderate to high speeds, but not to crazy. Probably about 80 mph -85 safely.=, or for my abilioty anyway.

I-395 is like a test track straightaway, with miles of visibility and sweeping gentle curves even at high speeds. I figured that with the traffic light I'd open her up a bit. This car doesn't take long to get from 90 mph to 130 mph. Even in 6th, you floor it and you pull and pull. And the car feels absolutley stable at high speed. I'm not to familiar with the road so I didn't feel comfortable not knowing the police hideouts, but my detector never chirped the entire ay there or back. I must commend Connecticut drivers though. Nearly every driver stayed to the right and the few that were "speeding" in the left lane realized the should quickly move to the right when the small HIDs waaay in the distance were getting closer a lot faster.

About 2 exits from the casino I recognized the tell-tale lights of a 6 in the right lane. It was blue (i think) with some chrome 18s or 19s. I was considering alowing down beside him but I was in the middle of my run. I was going to try to hit the governor of 150, but decided against it. I have hit 140 on another night. Whoever was in that 6, must have just seen a red blur because he must have been doing 80 and I flew by him like he was doing 30.

Finally, I got off at exit 79 and much to my delight I came up behind an WRX Sti. Yikes! I'm not into street racing so I paced behind him but I decided to pass him on the right because he was stuck behind some Cadillac. Well once he saw me do that and he saw the Speed6, he iimmedieley pursued me and we had a bit of a fun cat and mouse game. At one point at the final exit to the casino, he ws in the left lane and I was in the right. The exit has a long and sweeping curve from right to left. Very tricky. He was intent on not letting me get ahead and we were both locked in the curve neck. I finally slowed down because I could feel the ESC kicking in a bit, and I know my limit. I could feel the passenger-side rear wheel pusihing the car's ass into the curve though. All-in all good fun. When we stopped at the next light he had put all the windows down and he actually had a few passengers, one of which was begging me to please not antogonize him, the driver of the Sti lol.

Fun night, no tickets, and nobody was hurt thankfully. Mohegan would be a nice place for a Meet. BTW, diving fast killed fuel conomy for sure. To the Casino and back. 56 miles each way, and half a tank of gas to do it. We got there in about 45 minutes.

Thats so funny because I had the same fun Saturday night. I left NH around 6pm and got to Mohegan around 7.30. And yes 395 is a lot of fun and very light traffic for some reason.

Too bad we never saw each other though...

The way home was even better, I followed a G6 that thought he was faster than me the whole way home. I think I pissed him off when he could'nt shake me lol.

I may actually be back there next weekend... that hold 'em table is so fun.
