Hey everybody on this episode of "Will It Fit?" I have a 2004 Mazda 6 S Wagon, just picked up some Avid1 AV-06 Wheels that are 18x8.5 +38
in my bolt pattern of 5x114.3
Looking for tire setups and was wondering if a 225/40ZR18 would fit
Stock ride height but would like to go low in the future, not against rolling the fenders
Some poking around has told me that many people go for a higher offset, will a +38 be an issue? I test fitted the wheels on the front and there is some poke past the fender but looks like everything could clear if there is some stretch. I maybe should also test fit the rears before I mount tires because I hear some people have clearance issues back there.
Apologies if I butchered anything, I'm new to this, thank you lovely mazda 6 community!

Welcome to the forum!

Here ya go: Rim & Tire Size Calculator. Custom Offsets

I've been out of the 1st gen game for almost a decade so I forget but +38 on 8.5 width tires if you plan to lower seems a little too low. You may want to go with +42 - 45 or a narrower rim.

For the tires, if you're looking to go as close to OEM as you can, you'd want to go 225/45/R18, otherwise your speedometer will be off a bit.

If you want a 40 series, you need a 235, but those will still be spread out on an 8.5" rim.
