Just a comment: my 6MT in my 2017 - for me (i.e. "YMMV") - has not-great gear ratios - and it sometimes has me thinking that I would not be fussed if I had a 5 speed instead. A fair amount of the time I skip gears. First gear I find too much of a "granny-gear" - i.e. it is too low-geared, too "short". 5th versus 6th - are too close. I could use a "taller" top-gear. So, on a down-gradient from a stop, I will often-enough start in 2nd, go to 4th, and then go to 6th. Other times I will pretty often find myself in 5th gear at city-speeds... which means 5th is not very tall-a-gear.

Don't be unhappy with your 5 speed. Repair- or replace it with same if it's exhibitting prbs.

Hi, Thanks , i find that the overall gear ratios are too short i.e I frequently travel at 100 km/h or over ,engine revving at a smidge under 3000rpm in 5th. I figure that an extra overdrive gear would be beneficial. The short gearing helps with acceleration though. I have no issues worth fixing considering the car has done 200000 km. I was contemplating changing to 6 speed transaxle when the clutch needs replacing.
Cheers thanks for input
