Hi guys, still getting used to the new car. The HVAC blower motor seems to be a bit 'loud'ish to me, especially when set to the lowest setting. Are these just generally a bit noisy? It's not loud enough to bother me, but loud enough to notice.

ALSO I did replace the cabin air filter, the original wasn't awful but was a bit discolored, figured it was time

Thanks

Mine is noisy as well and it appears to be the blower motor. When I turn it off I can hear it slow down. I want to replace it but I cant find instructions how to go about it. I have a Mazda 6s 2007. My Mazda 2006 was silent compared to this one.

I should have updated this thread a while back, I bought a blower motor from rockauto and the pigtail DOES NOT FIT our 6 (see here http://forum.mazda6club.com/mazda6-...nking-getting-hvac-blower-motor-rockauto.html). You could cut the pig tail off and wire it directly if you wanted to (which I did not do). I've just been living with it for now. Not sure how much they go for the dealer...

If you can find the correct one, replacing it simple. The motor is located in the passenger leg area of the car. there are somewhere from 3-5 (I forget exact number) of bolts that hold it in place and a single pig-tail electrical connection. Remove the bolts and it drops right out of place. took about 5 minutes maybe.

You might want to check your cabin air filter, many people forget about (or don't know about) this filter. It is located behind the glove-box and can sometimes fill with leaves and debris causing some crazy sounds from HVAC blower. Replacement filters are a bit pricier than you'd expect, but most auto parts store carry them.

Good luck

be sure you call them to confirm correct pigtail. those are all a bit suspect

^ not the same at my '07 6i. The one in the link you provided has a rounded half-moon connection. Mine is square all around.

Here is pic, factory on left and replacement on right

Now I could make it work, but I didn't want to cut the factory pig tail out
